PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH GAY MEN
Anxiety & Overthinking
Your mind may stay busy replaying conversations, anticipating problems, or trying to find the right answer before you act. You may look calm from the outside while feeling tense, self-conscious, or unable to settle.
What we may work on
We can work on worry, rumination, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, and the need to stay in control. We also pay attention to what the anxiety may be helping you avoid, contain, or prepare for.
A psychodynamic approach
Rather than treating anxious thoughts as meaningless noise, we become curious about when they appear, what they protect you from, and how they connect to relationships, expectations, and self-worth.
Start with a conversation.
You don't have to arrive in therapy knowing exactly what's wrong. Sometimes you know the problem clearly. Sometimes you just know that something isn't working anymore. If you're considering therapy, reach out. We can begin with a conversation about what has been happening and whether working together makes sense.
