PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH GAY MEN
Depression & Feeling Stuck
You may not feel dramatically depressed. Instead, life can feel flat, repetitive, exhausting, or difficult to begin. You may keep functioning while feeling disconnected from motivation, pleasure, or direction.
What we may work on
We can work on low mood, withdrawal, burnout, self-criticism, procrastination, hopelessness, and the sense that you should be able to make yourself change but cannot.
A psychodynamic approach
We pay attention to losses, anger, expectations, relationships, and conflicts that may be expressed through feeling stuck. Understanding the pattern can make movement possible without reducing the problem to willpower.
Start with a conversation.
You don't have to arrive in therapy knowing exactly what's wrong. Sometimes you know the problem clearly. Sometimes you just know that something isn't working anymore. If you're considering therapy, reach out. We can begin with a conversation about what has been happening and whether working together makes sense.
