PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH GAY MEN
Relationships & Dating
You may find yourself repeating the same dating patterns, becoming preoccupied with unavailable men, pulling away when someone gets close, or struggling to say what you want. Even when you understand the pattern intellectually, it can be difficult to change.
What we may work on
Therapy can help you examine attraction, vulnerability, boundaries, communication, jealousy, open relationships, commitment, and the ways earlier relationships influence what you expect from partners now.
A psychodynamic approach
We look at what happens both inside you and between you and other people. The goal is not to give you dating rules. It is to understand the patterns that keep repeating so that you have more freedom in how you relate.
Start with a conversation.
You don't have to arrive in therapy knowing exactly what's wrong. Sometimes you know the problem clearly. Sometimes you just know that something isn't working anymore. If you're considering therapy, reach out. We can begin with a conversation about what has been happening and whether working together makes sense.
